Running for Concordis
Last Saturday, 5th May, Roper Cleland, one of Concordis’ trustees, donned her running shoes and successfully completed the Peckham Rye 10k in order to raise money for Concordis International’s peace-building work. This was a great way to raise funds, vital to Concordis’ on-going work around the World. It's not too late to sponsor Roper so if you would like to show your support and help her reach her fundraising target please click here. If you would like to organise or take part in a similar event to fundraise for Concordis we are always keen to hear from you- please see here for more ideas on how you can get involved.
Cross-Border Pastoralist Migrations in South Sudan
Concordis has been working in South Sudan to support the peaceful migration of pastoralists from Sudan into South Sudan. The historical migration occurs annually, however following the independence of South Sudan, 2012 is the first year in which pastoralist tribes will cross an international boundary in search of water and grazing land during the dry season. Concordis recently facilitated two conferences, in Upper Nile and Unity State to address the concerns of pastoralists and host communities through face to face dialogue and information sharing. For more information on the outcome of these conferences and to download the conference reports and agreements please click here.
