The conflict in Sudan is a complex one and with the recent creation of the Republic of South Sudan these complexities are by no means resolved.

The conflict traces back to the mid 20th century and is a dispute with many faces: North against South; Arab against African; Muslim against Christian.

The Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) was reached in 2005 and a subsequent referendum in 2011 saw South Sudan gain self-determination.

Since the split, disputes continue and issues such as oil remain unsolved and a continuing source of tension. Concordis International has focused on facilitating informal dialogue across the spectrum of Sudanese society providing forums where North and South Sudanese representatives can meet                                                                                             informally and discuss key issues.
