Sychar Report No 1

Logo_Sychar_CentreThe Sychar Centre organises consultations in which individuals and ideas interact in an atmosphere of cooperation, with the understanding that solid research and frank discussion can generate consensus on thorny issues. This paper is the result of one such consultation on Land Tenure and Conflict in Kenya. It is offered as a resource to policy-makers from the national to the community level in the hope that it may stimulate reflection and discussion as Kenya moves towards implementing a new National Land Policy.

The paper titled Sychar Report No 1: Land Tenure and Conflict in Kenya can be downloaded here.

Kurt_Carnemark_Worldbank_Kenya_LandConcordis International has on many occasions worked together with local partners in areas of conflict. An example of such a cooperation is the relationship between Concordis and the Sychar Centre in Kenya. Concordis International and the Sychar Centre of Nairobi plan to facilitate a series of six or more inclusive, informal low-profile consultations in partnership together. The initial focus is on land issues. Pilot activities have already commenced with very limited resources and a report of these activities can be found in this section.
