Chief Executive
Peter Dixon MBA FCMI
A former Royal Air Force pilot, Peter Dixon holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Bristol University and an MBA from the Open University. He has held a variety of management and training roles in government and, in his spare time, has worked on a voluntary basis on short-term development projects in Nepal, Peru and Nicaragua and managed multi-national conferences in Central and Eastern Europe. His experience in not-for-profit management includes board membership (as Chairman and Treasurer respectively) of two British charities. Before joining Concordis 5 years ago, he managed training in international relations in London for high-level government officials from 40 nations and worked on regional arms control and confidence-building in the German Defence Ministry in Berlin. He has recently completed an MSt degree in International Relations at Cambridge University and is continuing his part-time study there, researching for a PhD on the relationship between official and unofficial third-party interventions in civil war.

Michael Schluter PhD
Chairman of the Relationships Foundation, a charity which seeks to have the importance of relationships recognised and acted upon in public life, primarily in the UK but increasingly in other countries. He was Research Director of the South Africa initiative (1986-91) and the Rwanda initiative (1994-99) of the predecessor organizations of Concordis International. Economist with the World Bank and research fellow at the International Food Policy Research Institute, 1979-86. Holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics from Cornell University.

Lucian Harriman BA MSc
Lucian Harriman has been involved in research, advocacy and communications for a number of UK-based NGOs working on conflict, development, and human rights. He holds a first-class BA in International Relations from the University of Sussex, for which he also studied at the Freie Universitaet, Berlin. Lucian holds an MSc in Violence, Conflict and Development from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, which he completed in September 2007.

Adam Backhouse BA
A graduate from Durham University in History, Politics and Middle Eastern studies, Adam has helped to coordinate a conference in Beirut, involving regionally prominent Islamic fundamentalist groups, with the think tank Conflicts Forum. He has also interned at Crisis Action, an advocacy NGO that attempts to prevent the spread of violent conflict. Adam has acquired a basic grasp of arabic, which he is consolidating and improving through further study. Adam has also undertaken extensive travel throughout the Middle East, Latin America, Africa and Asia.
Development and Fundraising Consultant
Rosie Marsh MInstF
Following a two year period working and travelling in Latin America, Rosie returned to the UK and qualified as a social worker, working for local authorities in London and Cambridgeshire. For the past 18 years Rosie has had a career as a professional fund raiser with several different charities, including raising funds to construct the first phase of a children’s school in the remote Indian region of Ladakh and working for three years as Executive Director of Action for Brazil’s Children Trust. In addition to her independent consultancy work on behalf of Concordis, Rosie also works part time supporting professionals with learning disabilities employed by Thera Trust.
